Are you curious about co-operatives?
Many early-stage social enterprises and people wanting to start them consider different legal structures, but two that don't come up as often as they should are co-operatives and mutuals.
We're hosting an online workshop to provide SECNA members with new insights into the diverse structures available for social enterprises, with a particular focus on the renewed relevance of co-operatives and mutuals.
You will gain greater understanding about the various structures available for social enterprises. Also, you'll learn how co-operatives can be structured as member-driven not-for-profits, or, alternatively how they can offer profit share for member contribution. Lastly we'll learn about the unique ways co-operatives and mutuals can facilitate social investment for communities of all kinds.
Antony McMullen of Co-operative Bonds, with extensive experience in co-op development, governance, and support, will present an introduction to co-operatives and mutuals, that will include community investment options you may not have even heard about.
