SECNA Regional & Rural Social Enterprise Meet and Greet

The Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) invites you to a virtual meet and greet for regional and rural social enterprises.

We're delighted to welcome April Merrick, Grants and program Manager NSW/ACT, FRRR and Kerry Grace of Ready Communities as guest speakers for this event.

What to expect:

  • Welcome and social enterprise sector updates from SECNA

  • Guest speakers

  • Community asks and offers - each guest is given an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves/their organisation and then share one ask and/or offer of the community e.g. ‘we’re looking for warehouse space for refurbished items’ / ‘we’re experts in circular design and are happy to answer questions’ / ‘we're wanting to find a social enterprise to run our events’

Speaker bios:

April Merrick - April is a passionate advocate for rural and regional communities. Starting her career as an Agricultural Scientist and since then she has worked in the community, charity philanthropic grants sector, all levels of Government, setup a social enterprise and has held paid and volunteer director roles on boards with numerous Government and community organisations. She is the NSW & ACT Grants Program Manager at the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) a not-for-profit organisation supporting remote, rural & regional communities to prosper by connecting them to funds, knowledge, and resources to facilitate community led solutions.

Kerry Grace - Kerry is a highly skilled communicator known for her ability to generate impactful solutions by bridging the gap between community, business, and government. With a profound understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by regional communities, Kerry employs a comprehensive toolkit that includes facilitation, research, community engagement, strategic planning, and advocacy. Her work with governments, NGOs, and communities is focused on crafting authentic and sustainable solutions.
